I have a fuschia plant that I overwintered and now I have it outside. It has lots of lush grown but no flowers. I have watered and fertilized it regularly. I do not know what type of plant it is, as I found it being discarded when I was out walking and couldn't resist taking it home.

Its Probably fine, most fuschias have to grow out a bit befor they put on buds, many start blooming each year on the second leaf set back from the tip. so when folks say to pinch them back for a nice bushy shape, they assume you understand that you stop that at a point where the plant will have time to generate new tips for buds to form on. some plante take 8-10 weeks for this, so for early blooms you would want to quit shaping it pretty early in the season. Your plant will probably make little buds soon, and then you can watch them open up and probably get an idea of which one it is. there are still about 1/3 of the plants in my co;llection with out buds that I have noticed.:)I dont get real excited about fertilizer, but when I do use it, I try to make sure I buy the right one. all of them are not made to do the same thinng. a good nursery can recomend one that would be good. My mom has had fantastic luck with Osmacote, and lots of compost. as well, maany posts on this forum have already addressed the hazards of over watering. Hope this sets your mind at ease.

Yes, Many of mine are just showing buds. Those fancy baskets you see for sale are greenhouse forced to bloom early. While it may be too late this year; you should have pulled it out of the pot, knocked soil off the rootball and added new soil mix as soon as it showed growth. Fuschias are pigs (heavy feeders) so keep it well fertized during the growing season.
