Fuchsia...Pinching or cutting??

Posted by denisio z6 RI (My Page) on

Reading through these forums, I'm not quite sure what to do about my dry, droopy fuchsia. Do I pinch off the dead blooms or do I actually cut the branch to encourage new growth?

Also, which ever method is correct, is there a specific way to go about this to ensure I don't kill the plant all together?

If your fuchsia's rootball is dry water it thoroughly and allow it to drain thoroughly. Spray the foliage with tepid water, keep the compost moist not wet Remove the dead blooms by pinching or cutting off the old flower stalk. There is no need to cut the branches.
