Heat and fertilizer

Posted by crazyforcorelli z5 utah (My Page) on

Were on our second or third week of temperatures of 100 or more, and there doesnt seem to be an end in sight.

Normally, I give my fuchsia a bloom buster fertilizer once a week during the growing season; however, Im now wondering if forcing the plants to bloom in this heat might be giving them unnecessary stress.

Any thoughts on whether I should lay off the fertilizer, switch to a 20-20-20, or just keep going with the bloom buster?

I am no expert, but where I live in Ohio it gets hot too. OK not desert hot. Mine grows well. I vote lay off it. Just give it water.
