Hello
I got my first fushia. It an upright and the neighbor told me it is perennial. I love it.
Can it take sun very well?
I was going to put it on my deck which gets quite a bit of sun. Thanks.

RE: NEW Upright Perennial Fushia Question

Hi there,
If you are going to plant it into a pot, make sure it is in the shade during the pm hours. Reason, fuchsia roots do not like getting hot and you can imagine how hot a pot gets (especially if it's plastic) with the full sun on it. You could double pot it, that means put the pot that your plant is in, into a larger pot with soil in the space between the 2 pots. Keep that soil wet.
Water your plant in the mornings, keep moist but not soaking wet.
Fuchsias in pots have to have winter protection. Hardy fuchsias will survive in the garden according to your minimum winter temperatures. Do you know the name of your fuchsia? What are your minimum winter temperatures? - Kath:)
