Has anyone ever collected fuchsia seeds and sowed them?
Thanks, Sybil |

Hi Sybil Your seeds should be fresh seeds. Sprinkle them on a bed of fine compost that is slightly damp in a shallow container, cover with a thin layer of the same compost and cover with glass or cling film and place in a warm (not hot) place out of direct sunlight. Best of luck |

| I should have said that if you are collecting seed for the first time then here is what I do: have a glass container, small jar or drinking glass (tumbler) handy, put in some water then squash the berries in to the water to get the seeds out and give a good stir.Leave for a while to let the 'mess' settle.Anything floating on the water is to be thrown away and any seeds on the bottom are good seeds. Gently pour off as much water and rubbish as you can with out losing the good seeds then place them on to absorbent tissue. Let them dry out and then sort the seeds from any left over debris. Plant as said previously |
