Ants

Hi all. Does anyone know if ants will damage/kill my fuschia? It is on my patio in a very large container. It is a "tree" and the ants are not only in the soil but climbing up and down the trunk and along all the branches.

Thanks!
Dana

RE: Ants

Hi Dana,
Have you looked to see if there are green-fly or similar pests on your plant, usualy residing on the underside of the leaves, usually the ants go for the sweet liquid that is exuded by some of these pests.

Have you looked to see if the ants have made a nest in the pot, this doesn't happen very often, they usually just go for the moisture from watering - Kath:)
