A newer variety - hardy

I'm a sucker for an orphin; earlier this year I picked up a neglected basket; cheap. It's a varigated leaf Swingtime and it's winter hardy! New leaves start out golden yellow then turn green with red edges and veins. Side-by-side with a standard Swingtime; you cannot tell the difference in the flowers. It's still in the basket and full of blooms but in another month will go into the ground.

RE: A newer variety - hardy

Hi Rain,
Yes indeed it is a lovely plant known as 'Golden Swingtme', was discovered in various parts of the UK in 1981. Here it is considered to be half-hardy which means must have protection of a cold greenhouse during our winter months - Kath:)
