Botrytis and cuttings

| I am having trouble with botrytis hitting my fuchsia cuttings. I know that to prevent botrytis one needs to have good airflow and not overwater. That is not a problem with well rooted cuttings. However, it is pretty much impossible to do that with cuttings in a covered tray (you cant exactly put a fan under the lid, or let them dry out). I have started with treatments of Captan, 2 tbsp per gallon in a squirt bottle, applied liberally to all plant surfaces, especially the nodes. It seems to be helping, but I still lost a couple more (I might not have applied the last treatment thoroughly enough). I touched a couple more cuttings today and the new shoots fell off. How do greenhouses do this in mass without having widespread botrytis problems?
The other thing that got me wondering is that I am doing this under grow lights inside (its already snowing in WI) and greenhouses do it under filtered sunlight. Do the UV rays of the sun help to curb botrytis growth? I have yet to have a problem with anything in my greenhouse, only inside under the lights. Sadly, its a bit too chilly in the greenhouse to be starting cuttings. |

| Try a systemic fungicide containing Tebuconazole - available over-the-counter. Al |
