| I managed to grow Fuchsia excorticata from seed, planted in March this year (2nd year trying). First placing the seed on top of the soil (Vermiculite), because they are so tiny. They took about four weeks to germinate and when they sprout a drop of water can bury the tiny seedling, so a lot of patience is needed caring for them. They are very slow growing and the two plants that survived are now only four inches tall. This might be because of our hot humid summers which are a lot different to summers in New Zealand. Still I look forward to see them flowering someday. |
