What to do now??

Hello,
I am trying to overwinter my fuchsias at dark cellar. I moved my plants there approximately 3 weeks ago, without leaves. Now I checked them and they have small new leaves - very pale because cellar is quite dark - with one small window. The temperature there is now about 12 Celsium degrees, will decrease during winter to approx. 3 degrees.
Shall I tear off these pale leaves manually or let it be??
Please advise me, this is my first year I try to survive fuchsias over winter, so I would like to be successful.
I cannot leave fuchsias outside, because there are often mild frosts at the nights and mornings.
Thank you all who will respond and wish you nice day!!

Hi Jarkal,
Have you also cut the plants back? If not reduce by at least half. Yes remove the leaves, because of the heat and low light you will get very long straggely growth. Have you read the link below? Please come back if you have more questions - Kath :-)

Here is a link that might be useful: http://faq.gardenweb.com/faq/lists/fuchsia/2002100206013394.html

Dear Kath,
thanks for quick reply:-) I cut them in one third, watering only to assure soil wet - not too much.
I think they will stop their growing as soon as the weather becomes colder (within one month certainly).
I will certainly look into the link you attached and if I have anything unclear, will ask you!
I love these flowers althought they can be attacked by other pests (especially whitefly), but anyway I like them more than pelargonias which flowers longer time than fuchsias.... I cannot explain my interest in it!!!!
