Fuchsia wilting

I live in Michigan, and right around when it started to get colder outside, my fuchia started blooming. When it started getting towards the freezing point, after there had been a few frosts, I decided to move the plant indoors, from where it was on my porch. It didn't seem to be affected at all by the cold wheather...perhaps because it was on the porch? But about a week after I moved it indoors (keeping in mind it has about 10 buds on it, ready to bloom and it is healthy) it started to wilt. The color is still a healthy green, it isn't very dry or overwatered...but the buds are no longer blooming, ever since I brought it into my kitchen. Should I put it back outside on my porch? Will the freezing temp. outside kill it? My house is around 70 degrees, so I don't know why it would be wilting... any suggestions??? Thanks. -liz

RE: Fuchsia wilting

Hi Liz,
No don't put it outside as you live in zone 5. If you want to over winter it indoors, cut it back by 2/3rds. You can give it fresh soil now or leave that until the Spring. If you do re pot now plant back into the same pot, don't over-pot at this time of year. Keep moist, don't overwater. Place in a position that gets good daylight, and not too higher temperature, 50f is ideal. Kath :)
