Winter Sowing (planting outside during the winter and letting the seeds pop up when they are ready) is considered THE way to sow most seeds by many gardeners. I sow seeds indoors and winter sow others, so I guess I'm not addicted to the method like the Winter Sowing Forum people.

Thanks, Brandon. Winter sowing never crossed my mind. I'm really getting a late start as it is. I searched the web and found a lot of info about winter sowing. I'll try that method next year. I guess if people get seeds to grow in snow, my seeds should grow outside in my soda bottles and milk jugs. We'll see.

I winter slow all the time - if you are needing to start annuals or vegetables you can start them in milk jugs now, no problem. Perennials that need cold treatment, pop them in the freezer for the required amount of weeks and then throw them in your milk jugs. They should be ready to plant by fall.
