If I am not mistaken, Cobb County has a provision within the watering ban that allows folks to water for the purposes of growing food.

You may wish to check with your specific county to see if they have any like provisions.

The use of irrigation water for food production in home gardens has never been restricted or banned, except in a few rare cases where the city or county water system had exhausted it's source/supply of water due to absence of planning.
Even under the the relaxed restrictions, you are still not permitted to water lawn areas, except with a permit for new installations.
Weeds (a/k/a misplaced plants) are also green! Traffic on my street at 40-60 MPH, in a 25 MPH Zone, will never notice the difference. My lawn area is neatly trimmed, but hasn't been fertilized or irrigated for several years.

I am dismayed that the EPD has not excepted trees in the watering restrictions. Each time we experience strong wind gusts, some trees are uprooted in this neighborhood, falling onto homes, blocking streets and disrupting overhead utilities for many hours. One home has experienced damage twice by fallen trees during the past 6 months.
