Killed another wisteria

I planted an amethyst wisteria from HD a few years ago. Last fall, I noticed that one of the large branches had broken off at the base and was dead, so I remove it. And now this spring it appears that the only other branch is also dead :( I must be the only person in North Georgia that can't keep a wisteria alive. This is the 2nd one that I've planted that lasted a year or two and then just died. I kept it nicely watered through the drought years and last year we had lots of rain. It bloomed really nicely last year too. I don't know what killed it.

Any suggestions on other wisteria cultivars I can try. I don't want the invasive one.

Sorry about your Amethyst wisteria. Are you sure it's dead? My wisteria just recently started to bud in zone 9. I wouldn't dig it up until I was sure. It may come up from the root...you never know.

Anyway, I know how you feel. I'm probably one of the few people who managed to kill Water hyacinth.

Ditto above. I have had soooo many things die above ground but come back from the root MONTHS later.

Had an Oklahoma redbud die over the fall and winter so the next Summer I removed the dead trunk. In the Fall, I noticed a weed growing there. Never did a thing to it, the following Spring, I realized they were redbud leaves!
So my philosophy now is too leave things alone for a good long while.
