Are wild violets edible? I'd like to sugar some of the millions in my garden for use in cake decorating.

Yes! The wild violets here are very nutritious. You can candy the flowers and use the leaves in preparations and also in salads. High in vitamin c.

I made syrup from them once. It took tons of flowers, but it was the most beautiful color and a wonderfully delicate flavor.
