What's your favorite variety of persimmon to grow near metro Atlanta? I only have room for one or two trees, so I'd like something self-fruitful. Fuyu, maybe? Any ideas for shorter persimmon trees, as mine will be sited near power lines?

I have Tamopan, Beauty of Moscow and Fuju persimons. They are doing well. Tamopan and Beauty of Moscow gave me few fruits last year. They are 2-3 year old. Hopefully i will have fruit this year. Fuju is still young, the plant looks healthy. It's interesting to see how it does this year.

If you prefer the crispy persimon like the one in the grocerry store, go with non-astringten type (like Fuju).
