Heavy Storms & Transplants

Hi! I'm sorry if this is a repeat thread... I've searched to no avail.

I've just set out transplants recently (squash, zucchini, okra, tomatoes) as well as planted other veggies from seed within the past week.

We are expecting heavy rainstorms and potential tornado weather. What are the best methods for preserving your babies during stormy, windy weather? Most of my seedlings are about 8" tall except okra which is more like 4". I also have lettuce that has just sprouted. I planted beans from seed, as well as onions planted from sets and neither one of these has made it above ground yet.

I'm not sure if I should just let nature take its course or if there is something I can rig up to protect these small plants. What do most of you do, and what are your favorite ways to keep your babies healthy in bad weather?

Thank you!
