full sun year round garden?

I am new to gardening. We recently ripped out some big overgrown bushes from our front yard and would like to replace it with something that grows no taller than 3'-4' tall as we would like to keep our nice window view. I am totally clueless and have been trying to research online but it's very difficult. We have a 9x9 space and I would like to fill it with some nice, easy to take care of plants that stay green all year and produce flowers/edible fruit(if possible). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Are you looking to replace what you dug out with a shrub type plant? I recently replaced some larger yaupon hollies with some soft touch hollies, the soft touch fits your size and sun requirement nicely and should outgrow that, but no flowers or edible fruit. There are some encore azaleas that would fit those size and sun requirements also and give you flowers twice a year.
