I am very excited by the progress Lanier has made. The lake has made a slow but steady upward climb for many months now. If things continue as they have, May will be the third month in a row with above normal rainfall. The paper said the EPD could consider lifting the watering restrictions if there are four consecutive months at or above normal rainfall! A person from Carrolton on a weather forum I visit, has been complaining about all this cloudy and rainy weather lately, which astounds me. After 2007 I don't see how anyone can have a problem with rain!

You are correct! I drive over Buford Dam almost every day on my way to work and always check the sign. Plus there are some spots I look at to check the level. There is on sign that is on a shelf that used to be under water. Then when the drought hit, the entire shelf was exposed. Now the bottom of the sign is under water again.

I think the lowest level was around 1050 that I remember, so we've put back a good 15 feet of water. Of course that could all go away if they decide to let it out :(((

Meanwhile, it's raining, so I don't care. My lawn and plants are getting watered and I don't have to lug water around the yard from the rain barrels. Everything looks lush and green.
