Best hanging basket for under porch/part sun

Last year, my Boston ferns got too much western afternoon sun and were constantly getting burned. So, this year I hung Petunia's, but they don't seem to get enough sun. What is best for some afternoon sun and shade in the morning? I have seen something called Bridal Veil that is a variety of Wandering Jew. Anyone have any experince with this or have any suggestions?

This is under my front porch, so it has cover over, but gets sunshine none the less especially in the afternoon.

Have you thought of trying Angel Wing Begonias? I have used them in hanging baskets along the side of my garage for 8 or 9 years and they never let me down.

Vinca, (actually Catharanthus), Callisia repens, Sedum morganianum, Evolvolus, Calibrchoa, Potato vine, Amaranthus (Love-Lies-Bleeding), Alternanthera, Trailing Nasturtiums or Trailing Verbenas, Bidens ferulifolia, Scaevola, shall I go on? Mix some up!

My wife has a Topsy Turvy tomato bush hanging on our front portch and it is doing quite well.
She has a lot of flowers, but I don't know the names of them.
