wind burn on young tree

Hi all...haven't posted in a long time, but I have a problem and I'd like some opinions:

Just bought a new maple and it got a good bit of wind burn on the ride home. I know wind burn is just a cosmetic issue, but it does just suck to plant this thing with it looking so bad. Should I just leave it alone and let it heal by itself after it's planted? Or, should I pluck all of the dessicated leaves? I've heard something about cutting each of the dessicated leaves in half, which would kill the leaf and encourage new growth. ???

Thoughts?

Thanks!
