We have cabbages with beautiful large leaves but they are not forming the head very fast, just a little knot. Do they need any special fertizer. My husband has been spraying them with a liquid vertilizer 10-10-10 and miricle grow.. How long does it usually take to form nice heads?

Really trust you are putting the fertilizer on the soil in which the cabbage is growing and not on the plants themselves.

Depending on the type cabbage you have planted, it can take upwards to 90 days before it's ready to harvest.

Concur: variety is VERY important. I only grow early varieties in the spring and mine are just showing the beginning signs of heading.
