Anyone growing asian pears or apples in georgia with any success?

Hi!, I recently planted two asian pears in my yard, a shinko and olympic and was wondering if anybody else in georgia has had any luck with their tree and how the fruit taste? Also, I have an enterprise, yellow delicious, and granny smith apple but no fruit yet. I was planning on, planting a goldrush, williams pride, and galarina apple this fall and would like to here of any other good varities that anybody else might be growing.

We've had an asian pear tree in our backyard since we moved here in 2004 but we're not sure what variety it is. It has produced heavily every year and we love the taste.

Thanks for the follow up. That's good to hear. I have read where they taste different by different locations. I have never tasted a home grown asian pear but the store bought ones are amazing. Have you ever had any problems with fire blight or any other diease?
