Transplanting Daylilies in Spring

I have a new garden bed that I have just set up, so far it is mostly flowering shrubs like Lilacs and Butterfly Bushes. But I want to add something to the outer edge. I have a ton of Daylilies in my yard that are geting overcrowded and thought they would look nice as the outer edge and am wondering if I divided these in half and replanted them if they will still bloom this summer? I know it would best to do in fall but was just wondering if they will still bloom if I do it now?

More than likely not, because when I transplant I always cut back growth which stresses the plant but if you want to try it go for it just take extra soil. I moved Iris a month before they bloomed and now they are setting to bloom.

Some will bloom but you will need to trim the green so it wont look so ragged.
