Jasmine (shrubs) will they come back?

I got these from walmart for $5 they are good sized and covered with flowers and buds. I want to plant them in the ground, but I"m not sure how cold hardy they are. Containers would ensure me keeping them (move into GH when it gets cold).

But I'd prefer to put them in the ground.

any thoughts? do you need a photo?

The tag does not say what variety of jasmine they are...the flowers are white and actually pretty large and star shaped, with a kind of frill around the edges. I"ll go take a pic :)

I have a Madison Jasmine that overwintered beautifully (planted it last fall). Don't know about other varieties.

I don't recognize it from the pic. Some jasminum species are hardy to zone 9, some to zone 8, some to zone 7. Maybe some only to ??? Yours is most similar to J. nitidum or J. multiflorum, both zone 9.

Jasminum nitidum, aka "Angel Wing Jasmine". Frost tender - Zone 10.
