Interplanting Peanuts

OK, well I had intended to get them out a few weeks ago, and we then were supposed to get pretty regular rain for a week or two, and then read about how bad that would be for them, so instead of direct sowing them, I started them in my greenhouse in starter flats.

They are all growing and are ready to transplant...so my (rookie) question is, would they also need to be hardened off? before going to the garden?

And secondly, are there any plants already in my garden that they could be planted amongst? I'm running out of room and still have a bunch more tomatoes that I want to put in...

What I have now (where there would be room) would be amongst a grouping of tomatoes, or in between some pepper plants?

Are there any plants they should not go next to or that they would cause problems for? I'd love to maximize all the space that I have as best as possible.
