The other hardy lantana is the bright yellow one - used to be sold as 'New Gold'. Still you can't cut the stems until danger of frost is past or water might get in them and freeze the crown.

Will ask someone to identify mine when they bloom. Had them for several years in part sun. Get to about 3', multi-colored flowers. Crazy large root system, deep and wide.

Rosie, is yours flowering pink and yellow? I do have one that flowers pink and yellow and is shorter.

Esh, I am laughing at your post "until all frost has passed". I'm taking cuttings now! Is there a frost warning ;)

I cut all my lantanas back in the fall (right after the hard frost) and they all come back. They are much easier to deal with while the foliage is soft, once they totally dry up they are hard and very prickly. I usually cut myself then.

The pink/yellow variety that is hardy is Mozelle.
One year I rooted 2 dozen of these in the garage.... I will always have this now!

Other hardy ones I have are Dallas Red, New Gold and of course, Miss Huff.

Last year I tried another variety that I do not remember the name, sorry, but it was short and brightly colored with hot pink flowers and steel blue berries- the nursery swore it was hardy for this area but it did not return.

I've had the Mozelle, Miss Huff, New Gold and Dallas Red for almost ten years.

Two years in a row I lost all my yellow lantana, I'm not sure what one it was.

I did have two pink/yellow in my butterfly garden and one came back. I have also tried Miss Huff and it did not come back. My neighbors have a lantana that is huge and comes back every year. I should try to get a cutting.
