The county just replaced our storm sewers and in the process of fixing things back up they have edged the front of our bed with mondo grass. At least I think that's what it is. It is very fine.

This is a full sun bed. Will this stuff just fry right up? I have plenty of liriope left because we used it as a dam around all the plants we saved from the area they were going to dig up. Should I just put in plugs of that now? I'm not thrilled with liriope as a border because it's so tall. However, it is free and this is a large bed. They also put in St. Augustine. Can liriope stand up to that?
