Using grass clippings for back yard flower section

Posted by tcason2 GA (My Page) on

I have a section my backyard that i use for 2 purple hearts, 1 apple mint, 2 creeping jennys and a grey ghost succulent. All of them young and in plant containers. Ive been using grass clippings for mulch here for about a month. I noticed once i peel back the grass to the dirt bottom there are tiny worms. is this an issue? can i keep using grass as mulch here?

I don't see why it would be any different than using another organic mulch.

The only thing I would be concerned about is if you treat your law with weed killer. That could transfer to the plants in the bed you are mulching. The worms are usually good.
