| I have this growing on a trellis-like box which covers my utility box. This box is about 4 feet square. The vine is doing wonderfully but is too big for that space and I have to cut it back almost every week. It has also become very large and woody. Can anyone recommend a smaller vine to camouflage this box? I don't want annual vines or one that would spring up everywhere in my yard. Thanks so much. |

| This surely is a very large and lovely vine! The size you need is a very tough one indeed, perennial vines have one purpose in life, and that is to GROW - so pretty much most anything is going to have to be regularly trimmed. There are some perennial vines that might do for you but won't be evergreen. I do not know if creeping fig would work OK - it depends what kind of utilities are being hidden, and what the trellesing is made out of. Mostly creeping fig likes a solid surface to go on. |
