I used to sharpen my own when I worked in a hardware store, however I've found that replacing my blade costs the same as a professional sharpening. I ordered a new blade on eBay, and the company that sent it was from Atlanta, charged me only a dollar for shipping! Great deal!

celeste, I don't have an answer to your question, but I frequently sharpen my Felcos with a sharpening stone. Takes only a couple of minutes. Have two pairs of Felcos, the older at least 15 years, used extensively, and I've never had to replace the blade. The reason I have two is that I 'lost' mine, tore the place up looking for them, finally bought the second on eBay, and of course, found the lost ones the next week. LOL Don't know how anyone gardens with anything else.

The rose society I belong to does pruner sharpening in their Spring meeting. I usually do what ggg does and replace the blades. It's very easy. Ace hardware carries most of the blades, or you can order them online. You only need to replace the cutting blade, not the flat blade.
