School Landscape

I had the pleasure of landscaping another school for opening day this year. Our company also did the parking lot paving, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, and the dumpster slab with sewar drain (since this is a daycare

and they throw away a few diapers).

That 12' Holly sure was painfull!

I used pots to soften the fence around a large transformer:

I love those Winter Frost hydrangeas!

Stepping stones lead to a nice rock seat:

In the foreground is a nice variagated Basil. Between the stones are Creeping Thyme and in front of the larger rocks I use Pilea and sedums. In front of the Hydrangeas is a nice Chocolate Alternanthera to help them pop.

Very nice! I love all the color, and the creeping thyme between the pavers is really nice looking texture next to the ornamental grass.

vroomp -- In that first pic, on either side of the walkway, is that the Harbor-something nandina? The dwarf variety?

I like those Hydramgeas also. Picked up half-dozen of them during my last visit to the Swamp, plus a ton of succulents!
Went there to get Kalanchoe thyrsiflora (Flapjack Plant) for a special project and as usual, lots of other plants followed me home!

Mk, No Nandinas are shown. On either side of the steps are Black Pearl Peppers. In pic one are Azeleas and a Rhodie.

Razorback, I know what you mean. I have never been able to walk out of there with only what I came for. Bobby always has something hidden in his special area that I can talk him out of.

It all looks very nice - some truly thoughtful combinations.

I can only hope that they put the effort into keeping it maintained (like those pots! - how long will they last?). However, since it is a daycare and not a public school, let's hope they will take care of their investment.
