ideas to plant from a seed

Hi all, been a while since I have posted. I am having a booth at our subdivsion fall festival and thought it would be fun to set up a plannting station, dirt, water, styrofoam cups, and some sort of seed....

Now this festival is nov 1, so what the heck could I do? Do they sell pine tree seeds?? Any ideas? I thought a pumpkin seed would be cute, but really, you can't plant that outside so that seems silly. Thanks for any ideas.

How about acorns? If you get white oak acorns (very abundant right now), they sprout right away. Red oak acorns take a little longer to sprout but of course are perfectly fine.

I was in Tenn a couple of weeks ago. picked up come large acorns for my mother (not sure what kind) Had them in my pocketbook. When I got home and took them out one had sprouted! Never knew they would grow so easy. LOL
