? re planting fruit tree

I have committed to cutting down a mature but sorry peach tree - produces zillions of tiny peaches, smaller than a golf ball.

First, does anyone want peachwood for smoking? Let me know.

Next question is whether I can replant anytime soon in this area. The sorry peach has extensive roots. And I have lots of other places I can plant. Once I solve this dilemna I'll be back asking for recommendations.

Rosie, you may have tried this? I had the same problem as you BEFORE I learned how to properly prune my trees. I swear it made all the difference on their size. I'd gotten those tiny useless peaches before too. This year I pruned following a video I saw on GW (cant remember the source but if you do a search with my name under the fruits forum you'll see it) The peaches were amazing and so much bigger it was pretty significant...Next year, I'll take the next necessary step and SPRAY my trees too, so that the bugs dont get more of my peaches than I do.
