Potential freezing temps the next 3 nights

Just in case you haven't been paying attention to the weather, there are potential freezing temps for at least Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Any tender perennials in pots that you hope to overwinter should be pulled inside by this evening.

I have some roses in 2-gallon pots. How do I protect those?

What about the perennials that are outside? I have some 1 year old rose bushes.

I'm assuming that the freeze will kill my remaining winter squashes and peppers that were still producing...

If the roses in pots are hardy, they should be fine; I usually just pull those close to the house so they can take advantage of the slightly protected environment.

Ditto to the rose bushes in the ground - they should be fine if they are hardy.

We just a weird little ice-y rain shower here!

Ok, it WAS chilly this morning. Down to at least 29 degrees ... but already up to 39 now, I think today will warm up nicely.

Time for me to finish that retaining wall! Well, in another 10 degrees ....
