When to wintersow annuals around here

Hi! I am inspired to try winter sowing this year and am about to put out all my perennial pots. I also have been gifted some zinnia, cosmos and petunias. When should I put those out in this area? I don't want to put them out too early but it gets so warm around here. Everyone on the winter sowing forum seems to be from pretty far North.

Thanks for the advice! It was this group that turned me on to winter sowing in the first place. I can't wait to post pics!

I sew mine on February 15th and let them germinate via WS, then uncap and move to a cold frame to get them growing faster without the chance of freeze or fry. On a really cold night I just throw a few old sheets over the cold frame.
