Picking up fruit trees in Atlanta, en route from Chile to Israel

Hi

I'm flying through Atlanta on January 24th, and I'd like to buy some fruit trees to take along with me to Haifa, Israel - where I live and tend my garden.

I'm looking for a tree called Acerola as well as hybrid apricot-plum varieties like Pluot, Plumcot and Aprium.

I have "from dawn to dusk" in Atlanta between flights, and I'm looking for advise as to where (and if) I can get these trees in the Atlanta metro area (I will not have a car).

Alternatively, if a Atlanta gardener is willing to allow me to mail-order the trees to his home address, so that I can pick them on January 24th, I'll really appreciate that.

I was disappointed to see that no Atlanta gardener is willing to help here.
I don't know how to recall the previous posting, but I'm taking my request back.

my guess is that no one replied because they knew that you cannot take living plants overseas.

One cannot bring plants into the US, but one can take plants out...
Perhaps even into Nigeria :-)

Perhaps I am overly suspicious, but I would think twice before giving a total stranger my home address information, along with permission to ship packages to it! There are too many crazy things that happen in the world today to extend that kind of trust to someone unknown!

That said, I hope that you are able to get your fruit trees! Frankly, it seems to me that it would be much easier to get them shipped to Israel (or wherever) than to try to transport them safely via airplane, given the limitations on carry-on baggage these days! That said, have you perhaps thought of offering to give out *your* information and seeing if someone would be so kind as to try to send you seeds or plants? Alas, I do not have access to such myself, but perhaps someone out there would!
