The Garden at Jackson Square, a San Marco community garden, is hosting a Jacksonville, FL Seed/Plant Swap & Community Garden Expo

This is a free event open to the public.

Anyone wishing to learn a little about the Community Gardens in their area or anyone wishing to participate in the Seed/Plant Swap are invited to attend. Spread the word!

March 19th, 2011 from 10 am � 2 pm

2554 Phillips Highway, Jacksonville, FL 32207

Exhibitors will include:

The North American Beehive Company - the president of the Jacksonville Beekeepers Club will be on hand to provide information about hobbyist beekeeping to those interested.

The Duval County Extension Office - what a wonderful resource our local extension office truly is. We are hoping to not only have a representative on site to inform the public about their services, but to also conduct a teaching event on soil testing, soil amendments and fertilizers.

Other area community gardens - come and find out which garden is in your area.

Independent plant and seed swappers - this is YOU! Won't you join us?

Sulzbacher Center � the Sulzbacher Center calls The Garden at Jackson Square home and will be conducting a few events that day. Guests will be asked to donate a potted herb to plant in the new Herb Garden intended for use in the Sulzbacher kitchens feeding 1400 meals a day to our area�s homeless and needy. Also, a harvesting station will be set up in the primary Sulzbacher Plot so that participants can enjoy the experience of harvesting Copenhagen Early Market cabbages for the Sulzbacher kitchens. Guests can also learn more about the Sulzbacher Center�s gardening initiative which instructs Sulzbacher clients in nutrition and gardening and provides a place for them to grow as gardeners.

Tidbits restaurant, will provide box lunches for purchase for $5 and beverages for $1.

Sanitary facilities will be available.

Add to that, our fabulous Farmer Lisa will be hosting various fun events for guests throughout the day.
