Any garden clubs/ get togethers in chicago?

All postings seems to be a year older or so, I am new to the city ( semi-new) and am looking for gardeningbuddies for future project's and such.
Anybody planning anything? I do not drive and my husband is not a gardener so I am limited to chicago and vincinity..
(as far as he can drop and pick up.. :-)
I am as interested in housplants as in gardenplants,

| I live near Chicago (south). I know they had an exchange last fall. It was out in the western burbs at a forest preserve in the fall, looked like a lot of fun. I missed it, unfortuately (it was on 9-11). This year I'm determined to make it!! I'm even starting some seeds just for trade - I'm hopeful for a spring exchange! |
