| Hello, About 20 years ago, I purchased a geranium from Huntington Gardens in CA - named after the gardens. I have since moved 4 times and still miss the plant. It had very deep green, very large velvety leaves and a rose (?) scent. I could be wrong on the scent, but I'm all about those leaves. I haven't seen a geranium that matched it since, though I've seen many scented geraniums (are they geraniums or pelargoniums - hate to be so ingorant in a forum of experts). Does anyone know where I can find this plant - or maybe have it and be willing to trade? Thanks in advance. |

| I know what you mean about being "all about the leaves." I have yet to find the fuzzy-leaved varieties at my local garden supply store, so I simply cut a stem from my grandmother's plant and soaked it in a jar of water until it grew roots. After it had a few shoots of roots, I dipped it in root-promoting hormones and stuck it in a small clay pot - viola! I am getting my first cluster of flowers as we speak, and it only took one season! I suggest finding someone who has the plant you adore and asking if you may take a cutting. I certainly am thankful that it worked out so well.. ~t. |
