Check out my blog (link below), which features a post about the breeding work of Marco van Noort of Geranium 'Jolly Bee' (as well as 'Sweet Heidy' and 'Pink Penny') fame.

In any case, there's a cool video highlighting some of this seedlings and future introductions.

Here is a link that might be useful: New perennial Geraniums

I like all three of his new blue varieties, 'Havana Blues', 'Azzurro', and 'Rise and Shine'. Do you think that any of these will be for sale in North America in 2010?

I doubt it -- maybe later in the summer. I have yet to see any of the propagators listing anything, but that doesn't mean they don't have it in their system already.

Thanks for posting this info "cpg". One can never have too many hardy geraniums, especially the fantastic new ones.

I just wanted to say CPG, that you are an amazing photographer! I enjoy reading your blog.

Why thank you.

I recently purchased (as potted plants) Perfect Storm, Dragonheart, Blue Blood and pratense albiflorum. I'm soo ...oh happy! I also received (bare-root via mail-order) Bob's Blunder and Double Jewel. Not sure if these last two will live or not. No sign of growth yet, although the roots looked OK, NOT great, just OK. Why do I let myself get "sucked in" to ordering perennials by mail? I know better and now I am paying the price.

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Because you have the same 'condition' that the rest of us do. You notice that I didn't say disease?

So, can you put my name on the list to share with?

Are you still looking for an older Christmas Cactus? I've got a fuchsia one that I gave to my grandmother while I was in High School. I won't even admit how long that's been.

LMK,
Penny

I see that Marjorie Mason (Mason House Nursery in southern Ontario) is listing Marco van Noort's three new geraniums that I mentioned above as being available this year at her place. Yeahhh! The bad part is she doesn't do mail-order any more.

Funny you mention this ontnative as I too have looked carefully at the Mason House 2012 catalogue (I am driving distance to this nursery). I am debating as to which of these van Noort geraniums to experiment with this spring given that I want mounding and more compact than "Rozanne" but hopefully long flowering (like "Rozanne").
