Does anyone have any experience with geranium patricia? I'd like to plant it in my front garden but want to know about it's size, habit, bloom time, etc. etc. Also, does anyone know a good reliable source for it? Thanks!

| I love Patricia! Mine blooms almost non-stop all summer long. It does take up a lot of space when in full bloom. It completely disappears in winter, and begins to leaf out in spring. The stems will shoot out about 2-3 feet. It makes a nice large mound. Here's a close up.

Beautiful!!! Sounds like it turns into a flowering shrub during the summer, huh? What kind of conditions do you have it growing in...sun/shade? Where did you get yours?

I think it's a terrific plant! Huge (3'x 3'), and blooms all summer, non-stop, in full sun; very hardy, too.

this is my favorite geranium bar none. It helps that my wife's name is Patricia. I have lots of them in my garden - they form a huge clump in the 2nd-3rd year in the same spot. They like rich mulch and flower so profusely in May-June that they tend to dominate things. If you shear them back to the ground after the first flowering they will produce a second slightly smaller flowering in one season (here in Bellevue anyway) Rodney

'Patricia' is fairly common in the specialty nurseries in my area. For mail order, you might try Heronswood Nursery (www.heronswood.com), Geraniaceae, and on the east coast, I'm not sure. Maybe Plant Delights?
