I'm a tropicalesque garden fan, but a few weeks ago I bought my first geraniums (labelled "ivy geraniums"), only to discover via this site that they're really pelargoniums. I couldn't resist the blooms and star-shaped leaves, and I decided that I could incorporate them into my Caribbean-looking backyard.
Anyway, the post for one of my hanging pellie pots blew down in the wind. I put it back in a more stable arrangement and ignored the few pelargonium leaves that were broken off in the mishap. Yesterday I was delighted to discover that I have some new little pellie plants that have taken root from those leaves that broke off when the plant fell. I'm beginning to see why people are so fond of these plants!
Maybe it's just my eyesight, but I think they look real good beside huge elephant ears, bananas, and philodendron selloum! |

| You are right about geraniums. Something similar happened to me last year. Had some broken pieces of geranium and one of them started growing near where we have our hose connected to our pipes. I was away for 6 months and when I came back the plant had grown and is twirling itself around the pipes! |
