Hi I planted some red geraniums don,t know the name of them in my basement under flourescent lights at the beginning of febuary. My question is when will the buds start to show ?how long does it take for them to start flowering? They are about8 to 10 inches high now with lots of leaves but no signes of buds yet. Also can I harden them of buy opening my windows or do they have to go outside in the sun?

Thanks

RE: flower

You can harden them off by opening window, but do not expose to temperatures below 50F (10 C). They need a fair amount of sun to flower. Usually they flower 13-18 weeks from sowing. Yours should be just around the corner.

HI i am also from Monteal and grow lots of different flowers under light i find the best way is to Put them in carboard boxes to protect from the wind and put them outside i start putting them outside in begining of may if they announce a frost I bring them in the ca
bin or bring them in the house depending how many you have i got a couple of hundred so i have lots to bring in so far so good.Have not lost any and most of them are in pots in boxes Anna lisa
