can you plant cranesbill bulbs in the spring?

I can easily get potted cranesbill from any number of nurseries, but I really want to do a mix of colors/varieties (blues/pinks/whites) for two beds at the corners of my yard, so I wondered whether you can (or should?) plant bulbs in the spring? There are a few web sites that sell a "hardy geranium mix" of bulbs and this seems easier (although less immediate) than buying potted varieties and dividing them.

Any thoughts? I've never done cranesbill at all, so not sure what the best way to go about accomplishing a mix of colors would be.
