Which geranium for deck railing boxes?

Posted by dreamgarden z6 (My Page) on

I have purchased two types of geraniums. One which will go in my flower boxes on the front porch.

One is a 'Tango Dark Red', zonal geranium from GoldFisch nursery.

The other are seed geraniums (red) that just say 'Home Depot'(!).

Which would be the better choice to go in the boxes and why.

They are both zonal geraniums - Pelargonium x hortorum. They will mature into virtually identical plants, the only difference being perhaps a slight difference in flower color. So either one would work equally as well.
