Dividing Ann Folkard

Planted my first geraniums this year, and love them. I've heard that Ann Folkards can't be divided. Is this true? Thanks

I don't know either. I just planted Ann Folkard this year. I suppose you could root leaf cuttings, or try to.

I've had Ann Folkard for 4 years, now, and while she likes her spot in my garden, her root mass isn't big enough for me to dare trying to divide it. Maybe I'm just chicken.

I've also tried taking cuttings, but it has never worked. Do you hear the frustration in my writing? Wish I could provide anything more than doom and gloom.

RE: Dividing Ann Folkard

I bought a small Ann Folkard last year, and it was lovely. In spring this year I dug it up and divided it into two with an old breadknife. The two were left in pots for a couple of months as I was enlarging and rearranging a border. They have since been replanted and are both doing well. I am glad I had not heard that it was difficult.
