 o
suggestions for pelargoniums- pot/planted

Posted by organicmom 7 (My Page) on

I just placed an order from http://geraniaceae.com, it was so hard to not get caried away. I love stuff that is different from what is available in my area. I ordered the following pelargoniums:
Black knight
Oldbury duet
Carlton pansy
Deerwood Angel Eyes
Deerwood Don Quixote
Michael (this one does state good container plant)
Valenza

They will be shipped next Monday and I want to have everything ready when they get here. I am trying to decide where I should plant them. I had thought about putting them in individual pots on my back patio but the would be in direct sun all day. Then I could plant them in the ground beside my deck where they would get the morning sun. Also I have a bed in my yard that I could plant them in where they would get afternoon sun. Any suggestions?!

I usually do not go overboard like this and don't panic about where I will plant something but this will be a lot of money for me and I wanted to make the shipping worth it.

Thanks!
Kim

Hi Kim
Individual pots have the advantage of portability. I assume that you would want to bring the plants into a frost free environment during the winter; pots make this task easy. I overwinter my pellies in their pots between September and the end of May.
Enjoy your plants

With pots my only options are morning sun or all day sun. Which would be better?
