I was given these plants and told that they were wild geranium or woodland geranium. I suspect that they are not geraniums. Can anyone help me to ID them?

You suspect right - it's not a hardy geranium :-)) Looks a bit like some sort of waterleaf to me, perhaps Hydrophyllum appendiculatum.

Thank you very much, Ive been trying to figure this one out for years. You are absolutely right, it is a waterleaf. Canadian waterleaf (Hydrophyllum canadense L.) Your clue led me to this
