spreading geranium from seeds?

Hello, this season for the third year I growth some spreading Petunias by seeds, but like the other years I hadn't very good performance....
Next year I would like to start a geranium by seeds: which is the best variety in your opinion? is there a a 'spreading' variety from seeds?
